Out walking around Pegreduer
Keen walkers may like to know….
A Circular Route from Falcon’s Nest – Approx. 3 hours.
NOTE: Long trousers are recommended as sharp bushes cover the path in places!
Leave the villa and descend the mountain to main Pedreguer Road. Turn left and continue along the road until you see the Pedreguer town sign. Take the tarmac lane on the left, bearing left. Climb to the top/end by some smart villas. The path starts here by ‘no dogs’ sign, and climbs up to the casa with beehive and water tanks (visible from Falcon’s Nest). Continue up the path which traverses on the right hand side of the ridge. In a 100 metres take a moment to climb to the top of the ridge to get an excellent view of Falcon’s Nest. There is also a small enclosure with a stone circular structure inside – home to some strange furry animals. We named it Mike’s pterodactyl nest!
Return to the path and continue an easy climb to a derelict casa. Turn left through an orchard and continue up the path until you reach the small casa under construction. Rest here a moment to take in the magnificent views of the villages, mountains and sea. After this house you will come to a cross roads where, straight ahead, leads to the smart house and grounds. Take a left turn onto the concrete road which, further along, is the one you can see below from the terrace at Falcon’s Nest.
The road loops around and you can enjoy fantastic scenery whilst gradually heading downhill. After some time, and just before a double bend with casa on your right, take the track to the right and climb up until you reach three casas. The path home starts behind the casa on the right hand side. Follow this and you join the end of Miramar Road. Go down and then up the tarmac road to the top. Turn right and you are within 100 metres of Falcon’s Nest where cool drinks and the pool await your return!
Note: There are several other walks in the Marina Alta Interior – refer to map in the folder. The majority of the walks start in Pedreguer. Enjoy the experience, we did.
